Plan a Fun-Filled Easter Break in East Yorkshire

The Easter holidays are just around the corner, and what better way to spend it than exploring the wonders of East Yorkshire with your loved ones. With the weather getting warmer and the days becoming longer, you can make the most out of your holiday break by indulging in exciting outdoor activities.

At West Hale Gate Glamping, we offer luxury shepherds hut stays for couples, and all the events listed below are just a short distance away from our location.

Walking

If you’re a fan of fresh air, exercise, and strolling amidst scenic views, then East Yorkshire has plenty of walking routes to offer, from the Yorkshire Wolds Way to the Headlands Way. If you’re up for a challenge, the WANDER project will take you on an artistic journey through the Yorkshire Wolds. Alternatively, explore the area’s towns by heading out on a town trail or using the Love Exploring app for trails and games.

Beaches

Don’t rule out beaches in the spring! Flamborough’s caves and rock pools are waiting for you to explore, while the Bridlington Bay offers miles of stunning beaches where you can breathe in the fresh air and listen to the calming sound of the rolling waves. Take a break from your beach adventure and indulge in some delicious fish and chips or burgers from coastal eateries to fuel your beach activities.

Parks and Woodlands

Spring is the right time to enjoy the bright colours of spring flowers and the returning lush greenery of parks and woodlands. Explore East Yorkshire’s vast green spaces and go on a bug hunt or a picnic with your loved ones. Draw up energy by picking takeaway sandwiches, share boxes and afternoon teas from local bakeries and cafes.

Gardens and Stately Homes

While public gardens and stately homes don’t offer the full experience, they’re still worth a visit, and East Yorkshire has plenty of them.

Sewerby Hall & Gardens boasts stunning clifftop daffodils you can admire while enjoying a perfect picnic. Be sure to pre-book tickets online before visiting the garden.

Take a trip to Sledmere House and appreciate the historic grounds and exquisite walled garden. Round off your visit at The Stables cafe, where you’ll find refreshments and delightful cakes.

Visit Burton Agnes Hall & Gardens and engage in their captivating gardens and adventure playground. Members can enjoy the grounds without booking, but non-members need to pre-book tickets online. Hand sanitizers are available at different points, and delicious seasonal food, baked treats, and refreshments are available for takeaways.

No matter what you choose to do, we at West Hale Gate Glamping hope you have a ‘hoppy’ Easter break!
